Question Deadline 10/10/2024 at 5:00 PM PT Such requirements include but are not limited to, Disadvantaged Business Enterprise good faith efforts, Davis Bacon and California prevailing wage rates, and American Iron and Steel requirements. Additionally, the General Contractor and all Subcontractors must make good faith efforts to hire qualified individuals who are residents of Santa Cruz County as required by Santa Cruz Municipal Code (SCMC) Chapter 3.10, and to employ apprentices who are enrolled and participate in a viable apprenticeship program approved by the Division of Apprenticeship Standards. Each bid shall be accompanied by one of the following forms of Bidder’s security: cash, certified or cashier’s check drawn upon a responsible bank, or Bid Bond executed by an admitted surety insurer, made payable to the City of Santa Cruz. The Bidder’s security shall be in an amount equal to at least ten percent (10%) of the total bid price and shall be conditioned to be forfeited to the City in the event that the Bidder, if their bid is accepted, does not execute the Contract for the Project and provide the required bonds, certificates of insurance, and endorsements as required. A bid will not be considered unless one of the approved forms of Bidder’s security is enclosed with it. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Questions regarding interpretation of the Specifications or Drawings or any other portion of the Bidding Documents or Addenda thereto shall be submitted in writing to Doug Valby, Associate Civil Engineer dvalby@santacruzca.gov. No interpretation of the meaning of the Specifications, Drawings, or other Bidding Documents will be made orally. Only interpretations made via Addendum will be binding.
