The work consists of removal and replacement of existing filter media (Anthracite and greensand), gravel retaining screen, gravel filter bed, up to 54 sand valves, removal of tank pressure sensor and sample taps, sealing of penetrations from removed sensor and taps, replacement pressure sensors, and surface preparation and recoating of exterior of filter vessels in three 10-foot diameter by 10.75- foot-high vertical pressure filters, interior surface recoating in one filter, and replacement of building dehumidifier. The work also includes alternates for replacement of up to 104 additional sand valves and interior surface recoating for two filters. Question Deadline 10/04/2024 Online - Q&A A bid deposit shall be furnished in accordance with the Instructions to Bidders. Bids shall be on a lump sum basis. All Bids for this project are subject to the provisions of Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 149, Section 44A - 44J inclusive as amended. In accordance with Section 44D of Chapter 149 of the General Laws of Massachusetts as amended, the prospective General Bidders must submit with their Bid, a certificate of eligibility issued by the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM), showing that the Bidder has been approved to bid on projects of the size and nature as advertised herein. Prospective General Bidders must also submit an updated statement summarizing their record for the period between the latest DCAMM certificate and the date of the Bid submittal. The DCAMM certificate of eligibility to be submitted by the General Bidder shall be for the category of work defined as Sewage and Water Treatment Plants. The Work will be substantially completed within 330 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed and completed and ready for final payment in accordance with paragraph 15.06 of the General Conditions within 360 days from the date of the Notice to Proceed.
