Please consider this document as formal Request for Bid (RFB) for the replacement of HVAC boilers at Kraft Meadows Intermediate School at Caledonia Community Schools. All bidders shall direct any questions and inquiries to Matthew Hess, Executive Director of Operations and Transportation, 616.891.0225. Scope of Work 1) The District is seeking the removal and replacement of the HVAC boiler system at Kraft Meadows Middle School 9230 Kraft Ave SE, Caledonia MI 49316. 2) Inclusive of all engineering, design, state submission, disposal, acquisition, installation, and repairs/patching of the facility to provide a fully tested, approved, and functioning system prior to October 1, 2023. a) Contracting or subcontracting as needed for any area, including electrical, should be included or specifically noted as not included. b) Controls and control work for connection and programming will be supplied by the owner and are to be scheduled for installation with the boilers and system. 3) All equipment, parts, and supplies must include (at a minimum) the standard manufacturer's warranty (in writing) beginning at the system turnover-to-owner date. 4) Any alternates proposed to this may be submitted on separate sheets. 5) All potential rebates submissions are to be completed by the installer - the beneficiary of rebates will be Caledonia Community Schools. 6) All work to be completed in a professional manner, in accordance with laws regarding presence on school grounds, cleanup and cleaning of the work area are to be accomplished daily. 7) Work to be completed includes (but not limited to): a) Removal of 3 Bryan Boilers i) 4,500,000 BTU's / 80% efficient each ii) Removal of the 36" combustion vent through the roof and combustion air intake b) Removal of the unit heater i) Removal of the combustion vent through the room. c) Installation of two new high efficiency boilers. District preferences: (1) Aerco (2) Lochinvar d) Installation of pipe openings for any future boiler mate water heaters e) Required re-piping i) New boiler loop in the room ii) New dirt and air separator iii) New expansion tanks (Remove three existing expansion tanks. iv) Install three new ground mounted bladder style expansion tanks (1) 300 gallon for the Chilled (Glycol), (2) 400 gallon for the AHU's (Glycol), (3) 400 gallon for the Boilers (Water) f) Two new ECM system pumps g) Pipe insulation and repair as needed h) Gas piping as required i) Install a new exhaust fan and intake louver on the roof for room ventilation j) Patching and sealing of walls and roof 8) Testing, Balancing, and Commissioning of the installation and system. Award It is the intention of the district to award a contract at the regular Board of Education meeting May 15, 2023. Caledonia Community Schools reserves the right to make awards within sixty (60) days after the date of the bid opening during which period bids may not be withdrawn unless the bidder distinctly states in the bid that acceptance thereof must be made within a shorter specified time
