The Contractor must begin work within fifteen (15) calendar days after official notice by the City Engineer to proceed with the work and must diligently prosecute the same to completion within 240 calendar days of that Notice. Per California Civil Code Section 9550, a payment bond in the amount of 100% of the bid total will be required from the successful bidder for bids exceeding $5,000. The bond must be provided within fifteen (15) calendar days from notice of award and prior to the performance of any work. A performance bond and bid bond must also be provided for bids exceeding $25,000. The City reserves the right, in its sole discretion, to reject any or all bids, to re-bid, or to waive inconsequential defects in bidding not involving time, price or quality of the work. The City may reject any and all bids and waive any minor irregularity in the bids. Bid Security. All proposals must be presented under sealed cover and accompanied by one of the following forms of bidder s security: Cashier s check, certified check, or a bidder's bond in form provided herein, executed by an admitted surety insurer authorized to transact business in this State, made payable to the City. Said bidder's bond submitted must be the City's bid bond. The security must be in an amount equal to at least 10 percent of the proposal amount Constructing approximately 7,500 LF of Class I Resin-Based paved bike trail, a 90 LF steel pedestrian bridge, two 14-foot clear span wood bridges, drainage improvements, minor structures for earth retainment or drainage, concrete abutments, trail signage, and new fencing. The project is located at 6626 Petaluma Hill Road, at the City of Rohnert Park's Tank Access Road, and within Crane Creek Regional Park, as shown on the Drawings.
