Reference Number 0000317098 The Santa Cruz Port District invites qualified contractors to submit sealed bid proposals for Santa Cruz Harbor Pile Repair and Replacement Project - 2023. Work required as part of this project consists, in general, of removal and replacement of forty-five (45), 14" to 16" OD piles ranging in length from 50 to 75 feet, pile caps, pile guides and appurtenant hardware as needed with hollow, 14" steel piles with a high-density polyethylene (HDPE) sleeve. Pile driving work will be accomplished with a 2.5-inch diameter water jet pipe system that drives piles to within 4 feet of tip. Piles will then be seated as necessary for embedment relative to geotechnical conditions using a dynamic hammer. Work shall be performed in accordance with all permits, including, but not limited to completion of all work by November 30, 2023; deployment of silt booms for turbidity control prior to pile removal and installation; and a limit of 8 piles per workday. Contractor shall retain biologist(s) for required pre-construction survey, training and on-site monitoring during construction. Access to portions of the work will require use of small boat(s) and a floating barge for workers and pile driving equipment.
