A redundant influent line shall be installed to re-route wastewater around the influent chamber and/or mechanical screens during peak flow events or planned bypasses. The redundant piping shall consist of nearly 100 linear feet of ductile iron pipe (both above and below grade), a 20-inch magnetic flow meter, 6-inch to 36-inch manual and electric actuated plug valves, core drills into existing structures and building walls, heat tracing, pipe supports, and site work, together with related subsidiary and incidental work in accordance with the plans and specifications Work on the improvement shall commence within 10 days of the date specified on the Notice to Proceed. Notice to Proceed shall be no later than March 18, 2024, work shall be substantially complete on or before September 1, 2025, and shall be fully completed on or before November 1, 2025. Damages in the amount of $500 per day will be assessed for each day the work remains incomplete. Each bidder shall accompany its bid with bid security, as defined in Section 26.8 of the Iowa Code in an amount equal to 5 percent of the total amount of the bid. The City of Burlington reserves the right to reject any and all bids
