The Town has recently completed cleaning and inspection of both siphon lines to verify a clean, unobstructed flow path between north side wet well entrance to the south side discharge vault. Observations of corrosion are present (see Figure 1 below) and the Town has concluded that lining of this back up system should be completed as soon as possible. The Town intends to utilize a 3rd party contractor to slip line a new pipe system composed of high-density polyethylene (HDPE) within the existing siphons to prevent further corrosion from occurring. The Towns desire is to install a pipe system to maximize possible flow and therefore HDPE system selected shall minimize the total reduction in cross sectional area.
