**As of August 22,2023, this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on September 2023.** In general, this project includes improvements that offer safe access for pedestrians, bicyclists, and vehicles along the 850-foot Poplar Street corridor from the SAMS Route 294 Bus Stop to the Highway. The anticipated enhancements include pedestrian and bicycle access, drainage improvements, and traffic calming measures. The successful bidder will be required to pay not less than the prevailing rate of per diem wages as determined by the California Department of Industrial Relations on the date the work is performed. Questions must be received by no later than Tuesday, July 11, 2023, by 5:00 P.M. The Engineer's Estimate for the base bid is $1,580,416, $19,800 for the Bid Alternate, and $67,000 for the bid additive. The DBE Goal is 10%. All bids must include a bidder's bond or certified check for at least ten (10) percent of the total bid price including any additive items. Bonds or securities assuring faithful performance and payment for labor and materials in an amount of at least one hundred (100) percent of the contract amount, and insurance policies as required by the contract documents shall be furnished to the City upon execution of the contract.
