Reference Number: 0000315294 Description of Work: The project provides for the building construction of the Firematic Training Site - Fire Operations Building, at the County of Rockland Fire Training Center. This training facility will be used to simulate the heat, smoke, and darkness conditions encountered in actual firefighting operations. The building will be equipped with a heat monitoring alert system as well as a smoke evacuation system. The County of Rockland has purchased this as a complete pre-engineered building package from Fire Facilities. All building components and materials are currently being stored in weatherproof shipping containers at the Dr. Robert L Yeager Health Center (approximately 1.5 miles from the project site). The foundation and related site work for this structure will be completed prior to the commencement of this project. The foundation and site plan was coordinated and engineered to meet the exact dimensions and load requirements of this building structure. General Construction will be required to transport all building materials from storage to the project site, provide required protection of the materials once on site, and provide all labor, equipment, and supervision required to construct the building as per the manufacturer's Building Erection Manual. The contractor will not be permitted to transport the building components in the shipping containers they are currently being stored in.
