This project has been cancelled City of Columbia, Parks and Recreation Department is seeking a contractor to review existing building and foundation conditions, develop a plan to make repairs, halt the settling, and where feasible, return the building to its original condition, elevation and levels. Contractor shall furnish all required permits, materials, supplies, equipment and tools; perform all necessary labor and supervision; install, erect, equip, and complete all work stipulated in, required by, and in accordance with RFP, RFP exhibits, attachments, contract documents and documents referred to herein (as altered, amended, or modified by all addenda hereto) for and in consideration of the prices stated herein. Contractor shall demolish, and remove from the site, any materials as needed to make the effective repairs. The Activity and Recreation Center (ARC) located at 1701 W. Ash St. was opened in 2001. Since that time, settling of the building foundation has occurred. The settling is causing cracking in interior, exterior walls, floors, and walks Interior Work: Contractor shall make repairs and replace subfloors to a point where the City can make final finish repairs and replacements of flooring and other items. Exterior Work: Contractor shall make any foundation repairs and return subgrade back to existing condition/grade. The City of Columbia reserves the right to reject any or all proposals received in response to this RFP, or to cancel the RFP if it is in the best interest of the City of Columbia to do so Contractor shall agree to allow a deduction of five hundred dollars ($500.00) per calendar day from final payment as liquidated damages Offeror shall submit an original bid bond, in an amount of not less than five percent (5%) of offerors proposal City performance and payment bonds, with corporate surety, satisfactory to the purchasing agent, each in an amount not less than the contract price.
