Furnish and install a code-complying, complete and operational automatic fire detection system. Contractor shall provide all fire alarm head end equipment and field initiating devices. All audible/strobe devices to remain in place. Contractor shall furnish and install wired connection from all new automatic fire detection system outputs to the existing University furnished Keltron (wireless) radio system. All existing fire alarm systems to be decommissioned and removed unless University's Representative approves the abandonment of devices in place. All locations where devices are abandoned in place shall be provided with an approved cover plate. Contractor shall submit shop drawing shall for review and approval; furnish 24-hour fire watch while old system is off line and until new automatic fire detection system is accepted by University's Representative; and repair all architectural finishes impacted by the work. All removed equipment identified by the University Representative shall be delivered to a location and at a time specified. All other equipment shall be disposed of by Contractor. The estimated construction cost is $315,000.00.
