This is a invitation of bid (IFB) for construction services needed to replace HVAC system at Jewel Cave National Monument. Notice ID :140P6324B0003 Project Description: Removal of the boiler and hot water pumps, chiller and all associated chilled water piping and system, fan coils and some associated ductwork and a ground mounted rooftop. Additionally, a split system serving the elevator equipment room will be removed. A new air handler will be installed on the 2nd floor to serve the space served by the fan coils and rooftop unit. The new air handler will utilize VAV boxes with hot water reheat to provide zoning to the building. A new hot water boiler will be installed in the basement to provide heating. An air cooled condensing unit will be connected to the air handler to provide cooling. A new split system will be installed in the elevator equipment room on the 3rd floor. Associated electrical and architectural work to support the mechanical work is also included. Temporary heating and cooling are not anticipated based on coordination of downtime of systems during mild weather, however the contractor will be required to provide temporary heating and cooling if systems are shut down during times of the Continued. The Government anticipates that the work will be completed in 240 calendar days, including submittal period, with work tentatively starting in Spring 2024.
