**As of March 3, 2023 , this project has not yet been awarded. The project is expected to be awarded on April 14, 2023.** The proposed improvements include but are not limited to bituminous concrete paving, drainage, granite stone curbing, concrete sidewalk and concrete paver walk installation, decorative crosswalks, benches, light poles, trash receptacles and traffic light modifications.. The Town of Southington hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation, and that they will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, national origin or sex, in consideration for this award. All bidders are required to inform themselves fully of the conditions relating to the construction and labor under which the work will be or is now being performed and the Contractor shall employ, as far as possible, such methods and means in the carrying out of this work as will not cause interruption or interference with any other contractor. Bid security in the form of a certified check or a bid bond, on form furnished by the Town of Southington for 10% of the amount of the bid, must accompany each proposal. The Town of Southington reserves the right to reject any and all bids. Performance and Payment Bonds, in the full amount of the Contract price, will be required of the Successful Bidder. This contract is subject to state contract compliance requirements, including non-discrimination statutes and setaside requirements. State law requires a minimum of twenty-five (25%) percent of the state-funded portion of the contract be set aside for award to subcontractors holding current certification from the Connecticut Department of Administrative Services. The contractor must demonstrate good faith effort to meet the 25% set-aside goals. Prospective bidders must have a current sworn Statement (CON-16) on file with the Connecticut Department of Transportation and be prequalified to perform SITEWORK. The Bidders' Prequalification approval letter signed by the CTDOT Contracts Manager shall be included as a part of the bid package submitted to the Municipality.
