The Town of Stafford, Connecticut is seeking sealed bids for furnishing all labor, tools, materials and equipment required for the Furnace Avenue Reconstruction. This project will consist of the reconstruction of 3,450 linear feet of Furnace Avenue from 2,070 ft north of Edgewood Street to County Road. The project will include full-depth pavement reconstruction project as well as approximately 2,900 linear feet of storm drainage and significant rock excavation. Contractor Shall Be Pre-qualified by the Department of Transportation for Group No. 6 - Road Construction and Rehabilitation: Local Roads & Streets and non-freeways. All Proposals must be on the form furnished by the Town of Stafford and must be requested for the above-named project. A Surety Company Bond, on the form furnished by the Town, for at least 10 percent of the amount of the bid must accompany each proposal. A certified check will not be accepted. This Contract is Subject to State Set-aside and Contract Compliance Requirements The attention of the Bidders is called to the requirement for minimum wage rates to be paid under this Contract. The right is reserved to reject any or all bids in whole or in part, to award any item, group of items, or total bid and to waive any informality or technical defects, if it is deemed to be in the best interest of the Town of Stafford. No Bidder may withdraw their bid within one hundred-twenty (120) days after the actual date of the opening thereof. CONTRACTORS that find discrepancies and/or errors in or between plans, specifications, quantities and other matters, must immediately notify Devin Cowperthwaite, Director of Public Works, 1 Main Street, Stafford, CT 06076 or at publicworks@Stafford.org in writing not less than ten days before the scheduled bid opening.
