The project proposes the expansion of an existing detention basin or installation of underground detention totaling about 4.3 acre-feet on Village property to alleviate flooding concerns experienced by properties in the Scarsdale Estates neighborhood. This area has no storm sewers or curbs and a marginally functional ditch system. The neighborhood is bounded on the west by Arlington Heights Road, on the south by Central Road, on the east by Beverly Lane, and on the north by Rockwell Street. The project consists of the reinstatement of roadside ditches, installation of new storm sewers, and the potential excavation and expansion of an existing stormwater basin, or installation of an underground detention system and all other ancillary work substantive to a storm sewer and drainage project and as required due to project specific conditions. The proposed basin/vault location is between 833 S. Beverly Lane and 722 S. Dryden Place, just north of Scarsdale Court off of Central Road. No ROW acquisition is anticipated for this project, however, an easement from a single-family homeowner and possible easements from the Arlington Heights Park District and/or Arlington Heights School District 25 may be necessary.
