**As of April 24, 2023, this project has been awarded to NORTHEAST PAVING for $1,168,650.00** Bidders must meet Massdot prequalification requirements in the category pavement surfacing with an estimated value of $1,283,070. Contact the MassDOT Prequalification Hotline at prequal.r109@state.ma.us with questions. Prevailing wage per MGL Ch 149, 26 - 27f inclusive, applies. The project is funded by a MassWorks Grant. Qualified bidders who are M/W/D/BE are encouraged to apply. Other qualified bidders are encouraged to partner with disadvantaged businesses. The awarded contractor shall endeavor to meet Workforce Participation Goal Requirements under M.G.L. c. 149, 44A(2)(G). Registered planholders will be sent meeting notices and addenda. The Town of Becket is the awarding authority and reserves the right to accept or reject any or all bids in total or in part as they may deem in the best public interest. The Franklin Regional Council of Governments will accept sealed bids on behalf of the Town of Becket for Safety Improvements to a 1.3 mile portion of McNerney Road in Becket, MA to be completed by October 6, 2023 Snow date for Prebid Meeting March 9, 2023 at 1pm Written Questions Accepted until March 10, 2023 at 4:00 PM Questions must be sent to both Andrea Woods at FRCOG (bids@frcog.org) and Kathe Warden at Town of Becket (administrator@townofbecket.org ) The work is a Commonwealth of Massachusetts grant funded MASSWORKS project to provide the following, McNerney Rd. The following work is required to be completed by the awarded Contractor. o 6,900' long 30' wide with Full Depth Reclamation with Injected Asphalt Stabilization Fine grade and Compaction approx. 23,000 sq. yds.millings o 6,900' x 30' type Superpave Intermediate Course and Superpave Surface Course mix with wedge joint in place, Approx. 5,175 tons of type Superpave Intermediate Course 19.0 mm, Approx. 2,588 tons of type Superpave Surface Course 9.5 mm with wedge joint in place. Approx. 7,000 gallons should be expected, but this may increase or decrease based on soils o Tack applied in place to Intermediate Course prior to Surface Course being placed approx. 1,200 gallons. o All drainage work needs to be completed by the awarded Contractor prior to asphalt. o All catch basins (14 that are 4x4x4) and approx. 300ft culvert pipes (est. 14 pipes) need to be rebuilt/replaced by the awarded Contractor. There will need to be asphalt waterways where needed to the catch basins and culverts due to steep grade. Waterways shall be 3.5" thick o Approx. 2,000ft of asphalt curb will need to be replaced by the awarded Contractor. o Dense grade crushed stone will need to be placed on the sides of the new asphalt and compacted for the shoulder of the road. The estimated tonnage is 200 tons. o Asphalt driveway aprons will need to be added to every driveway. There are 24 driveways and one private road that will need aprons. o The driveway apron will need to be a smooth transition from road to driveway. o Period prices per MassDOT apply. Base price is January 2023 for Asphalt and Diesel which is $665/ton for Asphalt and $3.830/gallon . An increase in materials amount by 10% or more shall be pre-approved in a Town-authorized Change Order. The Contractor will provide traffic control and signage on Town roads.
