Online Bidding: Available Pre-Qualification: Yes Description: The Village of Carol Stream, Illinois will receive Sealed Bids for a Public Works Construction contract that will restore and stabilize the eroded streambanks of approximately 1,700 linear feet of stream channel and 400 linear feet of pond shoreline, reconstruct the outfall of an on-line retention pond (i.e. Mitchell Lakes), and convert an asphalt parking lot to permeable pavers. A general description of the work involved is streambank excavation and re-shaping, including re-meandering to create new channel and "oxbow" areas, as well as constructing wetland areas. The stabilization measures to be installed include vegetated rock toe, in-stream rock substrate areas, stream barbs, and pre-cast modular retaining walls. The work will also involve tree removal, adjusting storm sewers, installing pre-cast culverts, planting native vegetation, and performing maintenance and monitoring during establishment. An in-stream work plan will be required that addresses dewatering operations in order to construct "in the dry".
