The project work shall include the renovation of the Colwell Playhouse Theater and adjacent spaces within the Krannert Center for Performing Arts to improve accessible access to the Colwell Playhouse and elements within. A new elevator will be constructed east of the Playhouse to connect the Main Lobby, Lower Lobby and Student Levels. The existing monumental stairs at the Main Lobby will be reworked and extended to the elevator. Seating configurations inside the Playhouse will be modified including modifications to the concrete tiers, to create an accessible cross-aisle accommodating multiple ADA seating locations and new access aisle stairs. A section of the tiered concrete floor slab will be removed and reworked to create a level platform for audio & lighting station accessed from the cross aisle by a new inclined platform lift. Concrete ramps will be provided in corridors to the north and south of the playhouse, creating accessible routes from the Lower Lobby to the new cross-aisle. In all renovated spaces hazardous materials are to be abated. The scope will include at minimum, renovation of existing interior spaces including walls, ceiling, doors and finishes. The existing building MEP systems will be reconfigured to serve the remodeled areas. All responses must include: There is a 30 percent BEP goal for this procurement.
