E0392-00 - ELMS Building Roof Replacement Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf - 320 Sullivan Way - Trenton, Mercer County, NJ 08628 Project Location: Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf Driving Directions To 320 Sullivan Way, Ewing, NJ 08628 From East: RT-18 S toward Pt Pleasant. Take exit 6B toward Garden State Parkway/RT-34/Pt Pleasant/I-195 onto RT-138 W (State Route 138). Keep left onto RT-138 W Continue on I-195 W (James J Howard Interstate Hwy). Continue on RT-29 N/RT-129 N toward I-195/RT-29/RT-129/Trenton. Turn right onto Sullivan Way (CR-579) Turn right. Destination will be on right From South: Head north on I-295 N towards Trenton Take exit 60 toward RT-29/Trenton onto RT-29 N/RT-129 N. Continue on RT-29 N toward Capitol Complex/Lambertville. Turn right onto Sullivan Way (CR-579) Destination will be on right From North: Take US Highway 1 (US-1 S) Take ramp onto I-295 N toward Hospital. Take exit 75 toward West Trenton onto CR-579 S (Bear Tavern Rd). Continue on Grand Ave (CR-579) Continue on Sullivan Way (CR-579) Turn left. Destination will be on left The Scope of this Project includes: A. Removal of existing roof systems throughout the multiple level roof including membranes, insulation, shingles, underlayments, copings, trims, flashings, etc., to the roof decks of the ELMS Building at the Marie Katzenbach School for the Deaf. B. The installation of a new 3-ply SBS modified bituminous built-up roofing system including flashings, and roof accessories, throughout all low-slope roof areas on the building. C. The installation of new rigid and tapered rigid polyisocyanurate insulation providing a minimum 1/4" per foot slope to drains at each roof area throughout the building in which new 3-ply SBS modified roofing is to be installed. The insulation is to be fastened to the existing decks to meet the requirements of FM 1-90 or greater as designated. D. Replacement of existing coping with new prefinished metal pre-engineered coping system where indicated on the Construction Drawings. E. The installation of new asphalt-fiberglass shingles, underlayment, and ice and water barrier throughout all high-slope roof areas on the building. F. The installation of new sawcut ridge vent slot, ridge vent, and ridge cap shingles, as well as roof vents and/or above-roof intake vent where indicated on the Construction Drawings. G. Replacement of joint sealers above the roof level. H. Replacement of roof sheathing as required and as directed by the Architect, on a unit price basis. I. Replacement of roof framing as required and as directed by the Architect, on a unit price basis. J. The raising of existing rooftop equipment curbs through the installation of additional nailers to accommodate increased insulation thickness. K. The construction duration for the Project is one hundred and twenty (120) calendar days from the issuance of the NTP by the State. Refer to Section 01 32 16 Construction Phasing and Progress Schedule for additional requirements. L. The Project work hours during the Summer, when school is not in session, are any time frame between 6:30 AM to 6:00 PM weekdays. If work is to occur when school is in session, the working hours will be restricted to between 8:00 AM and 4:00PM. No work will be permitted on weekends or State Holidays
