As of September 20, 2024, per owner, they did have an engineer selected and started on a preliminary design but the project is now on hold. They have no schedule at this time for when construction will begin. Based on the preliminary project scoping estimate the estimated cost for planning, design and construction management services ranges between $300K and $450K. For Highway 211 and Gunderson Road - Intersection The City of Sandy is soliciting statements of interest and qualifications information from consulting engineering firms to provide design and construction management services for the intersection of Highway 211 and Gunderson Road. The intersection of Highway 211 and Gunderson Road is located within the city of Sandy, approximately 1.25 miles south of the intersection of US26 and Highway 211. Current and future developments will lead to a need for a traffic solution for the intersection. The future usage of the arterial will exacerbate an already dangerous stretch of roadway. The need for an intersection improvement is identified in Sandy's Transportation System Plan(TSP.) An analysis has determined that a single lane roundabout is an optimal solution at this location. The City of Sandy requires all Contractors to comply with equal opportunity policies. The City's programs, services, employment opportunities, volunteer positions and contracts are open to all persons without regard to race, religion, color, national origin, sex, age, marital status, disability, or political affiliation. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time Estimated cost: $300,000 - $450,000 *The value for this project is based on a financial range.
