DeSoto County is in receipt of two Small County Outreach Program (SCOP) grants administered by the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) for scour countermeasures at the Airport Rd Bridge over Joshua Creek (Bridge 044012) and the County Road 760A Bridge over Hawthorne Creek (Bridge 044010). The projects involve the use of articulated concrete block (ACB) mats to stabilize the channels. There is an add/deduct on the Airport Bridge to use Bank and Shore rip rap in lieu of ACB. There is also additional work including pile jacketing and replacement of expansion joint compound on the Airport Bridge, and concrete spall repairs on both bridges. The add/deduct and additional work may be included at the County's discretion. The allowable contract time for this project will be determined as follows: CONTRACT TIME The Contractor shall be allowed sixty (60) Total Calendar Days for procurement of materials. When the procurement of material phase is complete, the contractor will then have ninety (90) calendar days for Substantial Completion and thirty (30) additional Calendar Days for Final Completion for a maximum total contract time of one hundred eighty (180) calendar days. Any unused portion of the procurement of materials phase will not be rolled into the construction time. Substantial Completion shall be defined as all work excluding sodding and site restoration. Only sod installation and site restoration shall be performed in the 30 days period between Substantial and Final Completion. Basis of Award The basis of award shall be the lowest responsive/responsible bidder as calculated by the total of all items included in the Base Bid. The basis of award shall not change if the County elects any of the add/deduct or additional items. Bidders must bid all work.
