The work to be done in general consists of mobilization, traffic control, water pollution control, demolition, tree removal, potholing of existing utilities, street asphalt concrete pavement by full depth reclamation method, asphalt concrete grind and overlay, concrete curb and gutter, concrete sidewalk, concrete ADA ramp construction, utility cover adjustments, traffic striping, pavement markings and markers, landscape, fiber optic installation, video detection systems, and all other work as shown on the Plans and as specified in these Special Provisions. The estimated construction cost for the Total Bid ranges from $6,400,000 to $6,800,000. The Contractor shall possess a valid Class A: General Engineering Contractor License at the time the bids are opened. Further, only a contractor registered with the Department of Industrial Relations (DIR) to bid on public works contracts in California shall be permitted to submit a bid. Furthermore, only subcontractors registered with the DIR to bid on public works contracts in California shall be permitted to perform work or labor or render service under subcontract to the subject contractor. There will be no pre-bid conference for this project; however, bidders are highly encouraged to visit the site. Bids Shall Be Dropped Off Inside Wing a. Contact the City Clerk at (925) 671-3495 for Questions or Assistance in Dropping Off Bids. Wing a is Closed From 12 Pm to 1 Pm. All Bids Shall Be Presented Under Sealed Cover and Shall Be Accompanied by Cash, Cashier's or Certified Check or a Bidder's Bond Executed by a Corporate Surety Insurer. The Bidder's Guarantee Shall Be in an Amount Equal to at Least Ten Percent (10%) of the Amount Bid and Made Payable to the City of Concord.
