Supply and Placement of Armour Rock for Dyke Protection, Newport Town (NS027), Hants County. A total of approximately 5000 Tonne of type R1 armour rock is to be supplied for this project and is to be sourced from a quarry authorized/approved by Nova Scotia Environment and Climate Change. The rock is to be placed on the seaward face of the foreshore to provide stability and erosion protection for the foreshore and dyke system on marsh site NS027 located in Hants County. The length of the foreshore section where rock is to be placed is approximately 400 meters in length. During placement, the armour rock will be stable, tightly placed and interlocked together, with rock-to-rock contact and no overhanging or loose rocks. It is anticipated and preferred that The Works will be completed during frozen or near frozen ground conditions to minimize ground disturbance. The successful bidder must ensure they have adequate resources and appropriate equipment to supply and place a minimum of 500 Tonne per day. Take into consideration equipment requirements, weather conditions, tide conditions and spring road closures when scheduling work. The Works is to be completed prior to March 31, 2024.
