The Erie County Department of Public Works Division of Buildings and Grounds (herein also referred to as The County) is seeking Qualification Statements for an Architectural & Engineering consultant to provide professional services related to the project described above. The project will require removal and replacement of the existing roof located at the Downtown Library, which is approximately 55,900 square feet in total area. Also, the County is seeking a grant to provide funding for a vegetative “green” roof and construction of the green roof will be contingent upon grant award. The building was originally constructed in 1961-1962 and the roof was last replaced in 1998. In general, the work will include, but is not limited to, roofing and roof replacement, drainage systems, flash new rooftop equipment curbs, structural steel reinforcement work, masonry/granite repair and repointing, new equipment curbs and gas lines, and other miscellaneous work as required. Additionally, consideration needs to be given to asbestos fireproofing on the interior of the building which may require alternative application methods. The County reserves the right to reject the use of any sub-consultant. Nothing in the foregoing procedure shall create any contractual relationship between the County and any sub-consultant employed by the Consultant under the terms of the Agreement. All proposals must state the period for which the proposal shall remain in effect (i.e. how much time does the County have to accept or reject the proposal under the terms proposed). Such period shall not be less than one hundred eighty (180) days from the proposal date. Requests for Information Due: November 7, 2023, 5:00 PM (EST) A contract prepared by the County of Erie for the services requested in the RFP/ RFQ will be negotiated with the selected firm. The selected firm will be expected to enter into a contract with the County of Erie upon successful conclusion of negotiations.
