The Football Operations Center is a Collaborative Design Build project with PCL Construction, Inc. serving as the General Contractor and Populous serving as the project architect. PCL Construction, in partnership with California Polytechnic State University, are kicking off the new Football Operations Center collaborative design build project. This project team incorporates integrated project delivery (IPD) principles with lean design and construction practices, and contractually executed with a design build form of agreement. This is a two-phased project delivery process: Phase 1 - Design and Preconstruction Services, and Phase 2 - Design Build Construction Services. The Football Operations Center will be an approximately 30,000 SF facility, and become the home for the Cal Poly football program. The programmatic vision is for this building to serve the daily needs of the team during training time and the regular season, as well as to serve as a recruitment feature to bring top quality student athletes to campus. The project is to be designed, construction and certified with a LEED Gold certification. Design and preconstruction is underway. The awarded bidder(s) are expected to provide an immediate impact and participation in the collaborative design build project. Construction is scheduled to begin March 2023.
