For its Fremont Boulevard/Grimmer Boulevard and Fremont Boulevard/Eugene Street Protected Intersection Project (Project) The Project generally includes the following items of work; Furnish and maintain traffic control throughout the perios of construction; maintain pedestrian barricades and detour pedestrian traffic around the work area; demolish and dispose of or recycle existing improvements including asphalt pavement, curb, gutter, sidewalk, curb access ramp, medians and traffic islands; and other related items as per the plans and specifications. Project Information. Location and Description. The Project is located at the intersections of Fremont Boulevard and Grimmer Boulevard and Fremont Boulevard and Eugene Street, and is described as follows: The project is more specifically defined in the Contract Documents, but generally includes the following items of work: Furnish and maintain traffic control throughout the period of construction; maintain pedestrian barricades and detour pedestrian traffic around the work area; demolish and dispose of or recycle existing improvements including asphalt pavement, curb, gutter, sidewalk, curb access ramp, medians and traffic islands; construct protected intersection improvements, install new storm drain facilities, modify existing traffic signals, remove right turn slip lanes, upgrade existing curb access ramp, install raised cycle track, place hot mix asphalt concrete pavement, slurry seal pavement, install striping and pavement markings. There may be other items of work not mentioned above that are shown on the plans and required by the State Standard Specifications and/or the Special Provisions. Time for Completion. The planned timeframe for commencement and completion of construction of the Project is: Ninety (90) Working Days. Notice to Proceed shall not be given until thirty (30) working days before pole delivery date has been confirmed with a statement from the vendor. License and Registration Requirements. License. This Project requires a valid California contractor's license for the following classification(s): Class A. Contractors bidding as a joint venture must secure a joint venture license prior to award of the Contract for the Project. DIR Registration. City may not accept a Bid Proposal from, or enter into the Contract with, a bidder without proof that the bidder is registered with the California Department of Industrial Relations ("DIR") to perform public work under Labor Code Section 1725.5, subject to limited legal exceptions. The Bid Proposal must be accompanied by bid security of ten percent of the maximum bid amount, in the form of a cashier's or certified check made payable to City, or a bid bond executed by a surety licensed to do business in the State of California on the Bid Bond form included with the Contract Documents. The bid security must guarantee that, upon award of the bid, the successful bidder will execute the Contract and submit the payment and performance bonds, the insurance certificates, and the other documentation required by the Contract Documents, within ten days after City's issuance of the Notice of Award. General. This Project is subject to the prevailing wage requirements applicable to the locality in which the Work is to be performed for each craft, classification or type of worker needed to perform the Work, including employer payments for health and welfare, pension, vacation, apprenticeship and similar purposes. Performance and Payment Bonds. The successful bidder will be required to provide performance and payment bonds, each for 100% of the Contract Price.
