As of October 20, 2023, a firm has been selected for engineering, design, and construction oversight of the Facility 3 improvements. The construction phase of the project will be publicly bid within the next few weeks. A firm timeline for construction has not been established. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: In partnership with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency (OEPA), the Toledo-Lucas County Port Authority (TLCPA) is requesting qualification statements from professional full-service consulting engineer firms to provide engineering, design, permitting and construction oversight services in connection with the subject project. These services are to be provided in connection with the OEPA Coronavirus State & Local Recovery Funds Grant (SLFRF) agreement between TLCPA and OEPA and will be used to fund engineering, design, permitting and construction oversight to make improvements to Facility No. 3 which would provide capacity for a total of 20 or more annual dredging cycles. This proposed project will provide additional capacity to confine dredge material anticipated to be generated through 2040 by construction of modifications to the various confined disposal facilities (CDF's). As a result, the Port of Toledo will remain viable during that time period without open lake disposal of dredge material. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
