As of August 3, 2023, construction is underway and nearing completion, however, an exact timeline for construction has not been confirmed. The City of Fairburn will accept sealed bids from qualified Contractors for furnishing all labor, equipment, and materials necessary to complete the GoLightly Street Pedestrian Improvements Project. The work includes the installation of new sidewalk, driveway aprons, and ADA ramps on both sides of Golightly Street in the City of Fairburn. The contract will also include preparation of sub-grade, saw-cutting and demolition of existing asphalt and concrete, as well as clean up and backfilling. The scope of Add Alternate #1 consists of the installation pedestrian lighting within the project limits. Add Alternate #2 consists of the removal of the existing roll back curb & gutter and replacing it with new standard 24" curb & gutter. Add Alternate #3 includes milling, asphalt paving, the installation of traffic-print textured paving crosswalks, striping, manhole adjustments and other associated tasks. The scope of Add Alternate #4 includes the installation of 24" curb & gutter, 4' sidewalk, and open back catch basins on the east side of W. Campbellton Street, between Golightly Street and Dodd Street. All work must be completed within one hundred and fifty (150) calendar days of the Notice to Proceed with Construction (NTP).
