657-21-117JB Correct Deficiencies Identified During Triennial Testing 8-3-2023 Scope of Work (See Plans and Specifications for the full Scope of Work) The Construction firm must provide construction services as delineated in the Plans and Specifications. The following deficiencies below were identified during the FY2019 Triennial Electrical Testing required under VHA Directive 1028. This project will correct deficiencies remaining after testing. New equipment shall have all the required working clearances. Building 1 Replacement of panels per plans and specifications. Building 3 Replace Panel P3 in Basement Mechanical Room 001. Provide NEMA 3R, and misc per plans and specifications. Building 18 Replace panel(s) per plans and specifications. Building 24 Replace panels in Ground Floor Kitchen Room G06 per plans and specifications. Building 25 replace panels per plans and specifications. Building 51A Replace other issues per plans and specifications. Building 53 - Replace other issues per plans and specifications. The majority of electrical equipment in this facility has sprinkler heads, related water pipes and drainpipes directly over or within the spray pattern of the electrical equipment as represented by the picture to the right. Install protective covers to prevent water from getting into the electrical equipment nor are physical protective devices installed to protect the actual sprinkler heads from physical damage. Both are required by National Electric Code section 110.26(F)(1)(a) through (F)(1)(d). Shields need to be installed in all areas where electrical components are within the spray pattern or have overhead water lines to prevent damage to prevent overhead water sources (sprinklers and water lines) from penetrating the enclosures. Such penetration could lead to a potentially catastrophic failure. Protective covers or cages need to be installed on unprotected sprinkler heads to prevent accidental activation with the same potential for catastrophic failure as mentioned above per plans and specifications.
