The CPR Pedestrian Bridge is located adjacent to downtown Red Deer and consists of a two-span steel through truss and 10-span timber trestle system with a combined length of approximately 155 meters. It was originally constructed in 1908 by the Canadian Pacific Rail (CPR) company to service their Calgary to Edmonton rail line. This structure served CPR until 1990 when the rail line was relocated out of downtown to the west of the city.
