The Southwest Ohio Regional Transit Authority is seeking bids for a contractor to restore a stone masonry block wall located on SORTA's railroad Right-of-Way. - SORTA provides both fixed-route mass transportation services through approximately 357 city-type transit buses, and paratransit service 1. SORTA railroad Right-of-Way - 2456 Riverside Drive Cincinnati, OH 45202 Access to the site will be coordinated through SORTA and the private property owner. It is anticipated that all work can be completed operating from the face of the existing wall on the private owner's property and not require disturbing existing rail operations. If the existing conditions require equipment accessing the area from above the wall then all methods of handling work effecting the safety of rail operations must be approved by SORTA. The contractor shall be responsible for coordinating on or near the railroad track (including flaggers and closures) with the railroad through SORTA. A written trespass agreement with all affected property owners shall be the responsibly of the selected contractor. SORTA shall be supplied a copy of all agreements. Excavation of soil behind the wall as necessary to reset the blocks noted to be reset. o Temporarily remove stone blocks and clean surfaces of blocks along with the surfaces of bearing points of adjacent blocks. o Reset the removed stone blocks in place with Type S mortar. Restore and compact soil behind the wall and grade to promote drainage. If it is discovered that a removed stone block has deterated beyond reusability, a new solid concrete block masonry of same size shall be set in its place. o Trees noted to be removed shall be cut flush with adjacent grade and all debris removed from site.
