DEADLINE FOR SUBMISSION OF QUESTIONS/CLARIFICATIONS: THURSDAY, MARCH 16, 2023 @ 2:00 P.M. (EST) o Project 1: LCS Bus Facility Concrete Improvements: The concrete valley gutter at the LCS bus entrances along Amelia Street and related curb and gutters to the edge of the bus bays has experienced significant concrete failure over time. The scope of this project will correct the deficient state of the concrete valley gutter and curbs at the entrance and exit of LCS, improve the American with Disabilities Act (ADA) non-compliant ramps, installation of 20 cubic yards of new polymer concrete valley gutter and related curbs, and associated pavement markings. o Project 2: LOC Bus Wash Exit Concrete & Drainage Improvements: The concrete located at the exit to the bus wash at LOC has experienced major failures. This project will correct the deficient state of concrete at the bus wash exit area by improving this area to include concrete demolition, including the removal of approximately 7500 square feet of 1-1.5 inches of leveling course over the broken concrete, new base/sub-base, approximately 1209 square yards of 13 inch thick, 5500 psi strength concrete, dowel bars, and surface water drainage improvements. Also, the containment pit will be corrected with a concrete pour. o Project 3: LOC Fuel Island Drain Improvements: The LOC fuel island has experienced significant drainage issues over the years, resulting in the drain line being grouted full where it connects to the main sanitary line. The goal of this project is to install a new oil water separator to serve the fuel island and maintain the environmental water treatment. The project will include concrete demolition, new sanitary drain line, new oil/water separator, replacement of approximately 220 square yards of 13 inch thick 5500 pounds per square inch (psi) strength concrete and related base material. Also, the concrete pavement leading into the first fuel island will need to be removed and replaced with new 13 inch thick concrete and related base material. FOR THE PURPOSE OF THIS BID, EACH PROJECT IS CONSIDERED INDEPENDENT OF EACH OTHER AND CAN BE CONSTRUCTED INDEPENDENTLY. HOWEVER, DUE TO PERMIT CONDITIONS, ONLY ONE (1) OR TWO (2) LOWEST, RESPONSIVE AND RESPONSIBLE BIDDERS MAY BE SELECTED AND AWARDED THE CONTRACT(S). II. SCOPE OF WORK: General requirements for the work phases include approximately: o Removal of 1615 SY of concrete o Removal of approximately 833.3 SY of 1-1.5 inches of asphalt o 722 CY of excavation o 212 CY of embankment o 1454 SY type B stabilization o 1529 SY Optional Base Group 1, 4, 6 and 8 o 1428 SY 5500 PSI 13-inch-thick concrete pavement o 2410 LF cleaning and sealing joints o 20 CY polymer concrete valley gutter o 755 LB reinforcing steel o 76 SY welded wire mesh o 29 LF 4-inch non-standard PVC pipe o 1- 750 Gal oil water separator o 71 LF concrete curb and gutters o 1239 SF of 6-inch-thick sidewalk o 1428 SY filter fabric o 1 EA valve box adjustment o 162 SF of detectable warning strip o 2- Bus Wash existing signal relocate o 121 LF thermoplastic, standard, white 12" striping o 10 EA thermoplastic, standard, white message o 331 SF pavement marking removal o 2 LS (1 LS per project) Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) devices o 1 LS Maintenance of Traffic (MOT) devices including H-20 traffic load rated steel plates and signs o 1 LS (per project; three (3) LS total) Mobilization Units: Cubic Yards (CY); Each (EA); Gallon (Gal) Linear Feet (LF); Lump Sum (LS); Square Feet (SF); Square Yards (SY); Pounds (LB)
