Construction of a new retention treatment basin and pumping station to reduce the impact of major storm events by acting as a buffer during storm surges and provide emergency back-up service if Plant failure occurs. TIMELINE: Plans are conceptual. Federal funding was recently announced. An RFP for design is anticiapted in 2023; exact timelines have not yet been finalized. Further update may be available early 2024. Value represents total estimated project costs. The Government of Canada is investing $32.7 million via the Disaster Mitigation and Adaptation Fund (DMAF). The City of Windsor is contributing $55.8 million.
