As of October 19, 2022, bids were canceled. No definite date for the rebid. Furnish and install all labor and materials to pump crush and fill the existing septic tank, and install a new septic system at Sand Pond Beach as outlined on the plans and specifications dated 3-2-2020 by Bass River Engineering. Septic system consists of: - H-20 Dual compartment 1500 gallon septic tank with risers to within 6" of grade - H-20 1500 gallon pump chamber with riser to grade including ring and cover - Pumps, alarm and appurtenances to be wired by licensed electrician - H-20 DB-3 Distribution box with riser to within 6" of grade - Excavation of all unsuitable soils within 5' of soil absorption system, replace with clean sand - 6 - 125 gallon chambers with 4' of stone all around (44.6" x 11' x 12") - Associated pipes and appurtenant structures. 2" diameter HDPE pipe shall be class 150. - Backfill and rough grade with clean sand and return to surface suitable for driving The Contractor shall furnish all labor, services, materials, equipment, plant, machinery, apparatus, appliances, tools, supplies and all other things necessary to do all work required for the completion of each item of the work and as herein specified. Liquidated Damages for Failure to Initiate Work Contracted. The successful bidder, upon his failure to initiate work as specified in the Notice to Proceed or to deliver the required Bonds within 10 days after he/she has received Notice to Proceed, shall forfeit to the Town, as liquidated damages for such failure or refusal, a portion of security deposited with his/her bid, but the amount forfeited shall not exceed the difference between his/her bid and the bid price of the next lowest responsible and eligible bidder. On case of death, disability, bonafide clerical or mechanical error of a substantial nature, or other similar unforeseen circumstances affecting the bidder, his/her bid deposit will be returned. Location and Work to be Done. The location of the work is at Sand Pond, 180 Great Western Road, Harwich, Ma. 02645. The work to be done is specified under SCOPE OF WORK in this document. Complete instructions for filing bids are included in Instructions to Bidders. The Bidder agrees that this bid shall be good and may not be withdrawn for a period of thirty days, Saturdays and Sundays and Legal Holidays excluded, after the opening of the bids. The Town of Harwich through its Board of Selectmen reserves the right to waive any informality and to reject any or all bids if it is in the best interest of the Town of Harwich to do so.
