The Engineers Estimate for this Work ranges from $3M to $3.5M. The estimated cost of construction for the Project is in the range of $2 million to $4 million. The project scope includes upgrades to 42 existing bus stops within Santa Clara County and the construction of a new pedestrian fence barrier at the Eastridge Transit Center. Upgrades to the bus stops include but are not limited to the removal of existing transit shelters, benches, and trash receptacles in addition to the removal and replacement of PCC sidewalk, bus pads, curb/gutter, minor signage/striping upgrades, and the installation of VTA-furnished transit shelters and benches. The scope of work at the Eastridge Transit Center includes construction of a new 4' high metal picket fence with a median island at the base of the fence along with minor striping upgrades. The Project will also require Bidder to: 1. Have ten years of experience as a licensed Class A (General Engineering) Contractor 2. Have two years' experience with a government agency The work will include furnishing all labor, supervision, materials, and equipment necessary to construct the Project. The Bus Stop Improvement Program is an ongoing effort to upgrade bus stops throughout the VTA system by improving amenities at bus stops to increase safety, security, and access to respond to customer requests and field review findings. The Program is guided by the policy guidance established by the Transit Passenger Environment Plan (TPEP), compliance with the provisions of the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) as it relates to public facilities, and the language regarding bus stops, and passenger amenities as a part of the 2016 Measure B program. *The value for this project is based on a financial range. The value is listed as the highest possible cost from the range provided by a stakeholder or official project document. Milestone 1: Contractor completes construction of the Eastridge Transit Center pedestrian fencing : $1,000 per additional calendar day beyond 6/30/23 Milestone 2: Contractor completes all improvements listed under bid Form 1 for Milestone 2.The Bus Stop locations are: $1,000 per additional calendar day beyond 6/30/23
