The City of Whitehorse ("City") is inviting Bids from experienced and qualified contractors, referred to as "Bidder", to provide the supply of materials, equipment, products, labour and transportation required to complete the modification of the Mechanical Heating System in the Operations Building that will improve the operation of the hydronic heating system over the long term and achieve improvement on operating efficiencies. The Project Scope of Work is detailed in the attached drawings and specifications prepared by BSC, but generally consists of the following: Installation of a Caleffi Hydraulic Separator previously purchased by the City of Whitehorse which is located on the second floor of the Operations Building, on a constructed support structure as shown on Appendix E. Supply and install new 150/100 mm insulated and welded steel pipes to replace existing 100mm insulated steel pipe as needed. Existing valves to remain so draining entire piping system not required. Supply and install new gauges. Clean and flush new piping prior to start up, and then fill the hydronic system with glycol provided by the City of Whitehorse. Glycol has been purchased by the City and will be provided for use. Supply and install flanged balancing valves connecting to existing hydronic piping system. Valves do not have to be insulated. Hydraulic balancing of the completed secondary heating system. Contractor to work remotely with Ainsworth Inc. (formerly ESC Controls), Surrey, British Columbia (604-574-7790) - the City's Building System Controller currently retained by the City. Recommissioning the existing secondary heating pumps including adjustment of operating CDL and pressure set points.
