The Village of Addison is seeking bids for the rebuild of a Single Stage Vertical Turbine Pump. The scope of work will involve the removal, rebuilding, refurbishing and reinstallation of one (1) Peerless Model 42 PL Single Stage Vertical Turbine Pump to provide for a complete "turn-key" project. Questions must be submitted via email, Questions concerning the bid documents may be directed to Ewa Adamow, Purchasing Agent, purchasing@addison-il.org All bids must be submitted on the forms provided in a sealed envelope and include all signatures and information identified in the bid specifications. It is the responsibility of the bidder to ensure bids satisfy the requirements identified in the Bid Documents. The self- addressed label provided with the Bid Documents must be affixed to the outside of the sealed envelope. The Base Price shall include all costs incurred for all labor, materials, tools, equipment, supervision, transportation, rental, necessary permits, removal, rebuilding and reinstallation of the Single Stage Vertical Turbine Pump, building skylight and/or any other materials involved to provide for a complete "turn-key" project. This shall include the proper removal and disposal of all debris for the Village property at no additional costs. Part Costs shall specify individual cost for replacement or refurbishing of a pump component to provide for a complete "turn-key" project. Replacement parts shall be new and provided by the original OEM - Peerless Pump Company. All work shall be completed and invoiced prior to final delivery based upon parts, production and delivery schedules. Invoice shall include supporting receipts of new OEM parts purchased and pictures of before and after of all parts refurbished. The work of this Project is subject to the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/0.01 et seq. A prevailing wage determination has been made by the Illinois Department of Labor for public works projects in DuPage County. The Contractor shall pay prevailing wages in accordance with and shall fully comply with all requirements of the Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/0.01, et seq., including those set forth in Section 13.1.3.1 herein. This Agreement calls for the construction of a "public work," within the meaning of the Illinois Prevailing Wage Act, 820 ILCS 130/.01 et seq. ("the Act"). The Act requires contractors and subcontractors to pay laborers, workers and mechanics performing services on public works projects no less than the current "prevailing rate of wages" (hourly cash wages plus amount for fringe benefits) in the county where the work is performed. The Department publishes the prevailing wage rates on its website at http://labor.illinois.gov/. The Department revises the prevailing wage rates, and the contractor/subcontractor has an obligation to check the Department's web site for revisions to prevailing wage rates. For information regarding current prevailing wage rates, please refer to the Illinois Department of Labor's website. All Contractors, Subcontractors, and sub-subcontractors rendering services under this Agreement must comply with all requirements of the Act, including but not limited to, all wage requirements and notice and record keeping duties. A. Proper removal and reinstallation of skylight assuring continuous security protection; reseal skylight at end of project to assure secure, water-tight fit. Removal and installation crane services shall be supplied by the Village of Addison. B. Provide all required transportation of vertical turbine pump to repair facilities. C. Complete removal/installation of Peerless pump unit and Amarillo right angle gear. D. Pump shall be completely disassembled, cleaned, major castings sandblasted (internally/externally) and prepared for dimensional inspection. 1) A dimensional / photographic inspection shall be performed. All critical components and fits shall be compared with OEM dimensions. Non-OEM components and fits shall be documented accordingly. 2) The inspection report with proposed work scope and cost shall be provided to the Village for approval PRIOR to commencement of any refurbishing and/or rebuilding work. The Village reserves the right to select the final scope of work to be performed. 3) Receipts (purchase and origin documentation) will need to be provided for new OEM (Peerless Pump Company) parts purchased and installed. Before-and-after photographs will need to be provided for parts refurbished and installed. E. Replace existing shafts with new ground and polished stainless-steel shafts using #415 stainless steel material. F. Replace all bronze column bearings and lubrication lines leading to bearing assemblies. G. Replace threaded top bearing with new. H. Install new suction bearing. I. Replace impeller slip ring for 42" impeller. J. Replace all split line gaskets and "0" rings in pump. K. Replace impeller with new L. New packing and stainless-steel packing sleeve. M. Replace all pump bolts with #304 stainless steel bolts. N. Clean, inspect, repair rust, and paint units using the following paint: (Tnemec or equal) 1) Underside of the base plate, inside and outside of the pump column to be black epoxy. 2) Top of the base plate and right-angle drive to be enamel, Tnemec, or eq The Village of Addison reserves the right to waive all technicalities, and to accept and or reject part(s) of any or all bids which it deems advantageous. All bids must be accompanied by a bid surety in the amount of not less than ten percent (10%) of the bid. The bid surety must be in the form of a bid bond and must be signed by a surety company authorized to do business in Illinois. The amount of bond shall be clearly stated on the bid bond form. This is the Village's guarantee that bidder will execute an agreement and file performance bond, labor and material bond and insurance with bid submission as provided in the bid specifications. Any bid submitted that does not include a bid bond will be rejected.
