Paving various streets. Contractor Qualification Highway Division The work covered by these specifications shall consist of removal of hot mix asphalt by cold milling; hauling of cuttings; cleaning of asphaltic concrete pavement in preparation for an overlay; and may include stockpiling for reuse in a Recycling Program, in conformity with these specifications, and to the lines, grades, and cross sections shown on the plans or ordered by the Engineer / Director of Public Works. This work may include milling of intersecting streets to the limits shown on the plans or ordered by the Engineer / Director of Public Works. All salvaged hot mix asphalt pavement shall remain the property of the Town and shall be stockpiled at a designated site. Wage rates are subject to minimum wage rate as per M.G.L. Chapter149, Sections 26 to 27F, inclusive and a wage rate schedule is included in the specification. 100% performance bond is required of successful bidder, 5% bond required with bid. Prequalification of bidders is required (MA DOT). OSHA 10 requirement. Price adjustment clause in affect for hot mix asphalt mixtures. Period base price for liquid AC is $800.00 (ton) July, 14 2022 Bids signed with the name and address of the bidder should be submitted in sealed envelopes that are plainly marked in the lower left hand corner of the envelope "BID FOR SPECIFIED Paving Various Streets." The Town of South Hadley, Massachusetts, acting through its Selectboard, reserves the right to reject any and all bids or waive minor errors or omissions if it is in the best interest of the Town do so. No bidder may withdraw a bid within sixty (60) days after the bid opening. The Town of South Hadley reserves sixty (60) days to award the bid.
