The City of Salina invites written statement of qualificationsto provide architectural/design services for a new fire station to serve as the Fire Departments new Station #4. The new facility will be located on land already owned by the City. See Location Map in Exhibit A. Proposals should clearly demonstrate how the firm can best satisfy the requirements of the City of Salina as set forth in this RFQ. The City of Salina reserves the right to enter an agreement with the firm presenting the proposal most advantageous to the City of Salina. After shortlisting and interviewing firms, the City will select up to two (2) to three (3) firms to assist theCity with defining the scope and schedule to take the project from conception to realization. Selected firms will then be asked to submit a fee proposal to include all architecture, design, and other fees that would be applicable to a project such as this. The City of Salina is located in Central Kansas and serves as the economic and cultural center for the region. With a population of just over 46,000, the City of Salina serves as the county seat of Saline County and includes a variety of state and regional institutions. Saline County is one of the few Kansas counties projected to grow in population over the next 40 years. The submitted proposals must follow the rules and format established in this RFQ. Adherence to these rules will ensure a fair and objective analysis of all proposals. Failure to comply with any portion of this request may result in rejection of a proposal. The Salina Fire Department of the City of Salina has prepared this RFQ and has designated, Tony Sneidar Jr., Fire Chief to serve as the Project Manager. No inquiries will be accepted after 5 pm on August 12, 2022. If necessary, the City will issue a revision to the RFQ via addendum by noon August 19, 2022. The City of Salina reserves the right to reject any and all proposals or any part of any proposals, to waive minor defects or technicalities, or to solicit new proposals on the same project or on a modified project which may include portions of the originally proposed project as the City of Salina may deem necessary in its best interest. The City also reserves the right to negotiate with any firm, all or part of any proposal that is in the best interest of the City. The method of contractor selection has not been determined at this time.
