This project involves the comprehensive renovation of both the theatre /auditorium and science labs, as well as renovation of an existing elevator and construction of a new elevator. The objective is to create modern, functional, and safe spaces that meet the educational and performance needs of the institution. The Bidding Agency reserves the right to request documentation supporting a bidders claim of resident bidder status. Failure to provide such documentation upon request shall result in disqualification of the bidder or contract termination. The Division of Engineering and Contract Administration, Commonwealth of Kentucky, reserves the right to reject all bids and to waive all informalities and/or technicalities where the best interest of the Commonwealth may be served. All bids shall be accompanied by a bid guarantee (in the form of a bid bond or certified check) of not less than five (5%) percent of the amount of the lump sum base bid. A 100% Performance Bond and a separate 100% Payment Bond shall be furnished by the successful bidder. All bonding and insurance requirements are contained in the Instructions to Bidders and/or General Conditions. Bonds should be executed by a surety company authorized to do business by the Kentucky Secretary of State and the Kentucky Department of Insurance within the Commonwealth of Kentucky In the event a question arises regarding the meaning or intent of the drawings and specifications, the Contractor shall report it at once to the A-E by the submission of a Request for Information through the Owner's Document Collaboration System. The A-E shall furnish, with reasonable promptness, as defined by the Contract between the Owner and the A-E, additional instructions, by means of drawings or otherwise, necessary for the proper NO QUESTIONS WILL BE ANSWERED AT THE SITE VISIT. ALL TECHNICAL QUESTIONS SHALL BE EMAILED TO THE ARCHITECT/ENGINEER OF RECORD FOR THIS PROJECT.
