Consolidation of Grand River Hospital and St. Mary's General Hospital. Scope to include: renovation and remodeling of Grand River main site for ambulatory and urgent care; expansion of rehabilitation services at Grand River - Freeport; and construction of a new joint-use building (location TBD) for acute care. The hospitals will continue to operate independently in shared space once the redevelopment and new build are complete. TIMELINE: Plans are conceptual. In April 2022, he Government of Ontario provided a $5 million capital planning grant. In May 2022, the Owners submitted their Stage 1 Preliminary Plan to the Ministry of Health for Review; approvals are not yet in place. A 5-member Site Selection Panel has been appointed and are expected to submit their site recommendations by the end of 2023. An RFP for land proposals to aid in potential site identification has been issued by the Owner and is being followed in a separate report. Further update may be available spring 2024.
