As of October 2023, the project is in design and site plans have been approved by The City of Buffalo Planning Board. A developer has been selected and approved. Further details regarding design and construction have not been confirmed. A firm timeline for construction has not been established; however, construction is estimated to begin by second quarter 2024. The closed solicitation has been included below for reference. BCSD is seeking a qualified developer with the expertise, development credentials, financial capacity, and experience to plan, design, develop, lease and construct 60,000 sq. ft. of expandable warehouse or light industrial space to replace the current 44,500 sq. ft. facility at 1055 E. Delavan. The BCSD would need to take possession of a finished facility no later than March 31, 2025, allowing approximately six (6) months for relocation and start-up of the new Commissary. Questions Due Date: Jul 11th 2022, 4:00 PM EDT The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time Tentative Award Date has been pushed back to September 21, 2022.
