This Project will improve and increase capacity in Salem State University STEM and healthcare programs by providing access to modernized wet labs, simulation labs, and academic spaces. This project includes the full renovation of a 45,500 GSF building into a modern lab space. The project also includes the construction of a multiple floor 22,000 GSF addition to an existing academic building. The Salem State University Modernization of Science Labs and Health Sciences project will improve and increase capacity in Salem State University STEM and healthcare programs by providing access to modernized wet labs, simulation labs, and academic spaces, all with the goal of aligning student experiences in these areas with current and future workforce needs across the state. SSU leads the state university system in enrollment for biological and biomedical sciences, physical sciences, and health professions and related programs, which are major regional workforce drivers. Conceptual Estimated Construction Cost: $74,321,194 Estimated Construction Duration: 716 days DCAMM anticipates that the study for the project will be certified in January of 2024 with the construction project designer under contract by late fall 2023 or early winter 2024. Construction documents will be completed during summer 2024. It is anticipated that the Construction Manager will be under contract while the construction documents are being developed, with a possible construction start in the fall of 2024. The construction is expected to be completed within twenty-four (24) months. It is intended that the construction be completed and that the building be fully functional and occupied by fall 2026. The Project will be subject to the minimum wage rates set under the Massachusetts Prevailing Wage Laws. Workforce utilization goals will apply to the Project. Respondent MUST complete Schedule E (all parts and subparts) attached below. Part A of Schedule E requires a complete listing of each and every project on which the respondent firm was terminated, failed to complete the work, or paid liquidated damages within the past five (5) years. DCAMM reserves the right to modify, suspend or cancel this procurement at any time at its sole discretion.
