Scope of Work : The work of the project consists of the exterior renovation of the 1800s Mansion and interior and exterior renovations to the outbuilding located on the estate and known as the Cottage. General Bidders are advised that they must be certified by the Massachusets Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) in the category of Historic Building Restoration and that their bids must be accompanied by a Prime/General Contractor Certificate of Eligibility issued by DCAMM and a Prime/General Contractor Update Statement completed and signed by the Bidder. Bid Deposits: Every Bid shall be accompanied by a bid deposit in an amount not less than 5% of the value of the bid, including all alternates. Bid deposits shall be in the form of a bid bond, or cash, or a certified check on, or a treasurers or cashiers check issued by, a responsible bank or trust company. The successful bidder will be required to furnish, within 10 days of notification of contract award, both a Performance Bond and a Labor and Materials or Payment Bond, each in the amount of 100% of the contract. Minimum Wage Rates, as determined by the Director of the Massachusets Department of Labor Standards under the provisions of M.G.L. c.149 26 to 27H, shall prevail in the execution of the work of this project. The schedule of wage rates applicable to this contract is included in the bid and contract documents. Liquidated damages in the amount of $150.00 per calendar day will be applicable after the date of Substantial Completion for which the project is not substantially complete, and for each day after the date of Final Completion for which the project is not finally complete, and otherwise in accordance with the provisions of the CONSOLIDATED GENERAL CONDITIONS and SUPPLEMENTAL STATUTORY CONDITIONS. Bid and Contract Documents will be available for download after 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, July 6, 2023, from the Towns website. The Town will reject any and all bids when required to do so by Massachusets General Laws. The Town reserves the right to waive any informalities in, or to reject any and all Bids, if it deems it to be in the public interest so to do.
