The City of Dunn is requesting proposals that include the demolition and removal of the existing basketball courts and the installation of basketball court foundation, the surfacing of two (2) courts, four (4) basketball goals including nets, and the installation of the court itself including the goals and the installation of four (4) benches. Two (2) on exterior sideline of each court for a total of four (4) benches. The Basketball Court should be made out of asphalt with a thickness of 3 inches. An alternate for concrete court 4 inches thick should be included in the proposal. Bidders are allowed to use existing asphalt for crushed based material for new court material. There should be two courts. The dimensions of the court should be 110 feet long by 120 feet wide. This is for the entire area which will include the out of bounds areas. The playing courts should be 94 feet by 50 feet There should be 5 feet on each sideline on the outside of the out of bounds line and 10 feet separating each court. There should also be 8 feet on each baseline on the outside of the out of bounds lines. The dimensions of the total surface should be 110 feet in length by 120 feet in width. The entire court will be covered with an acrylic surfacing. The color of the basketball court will have a main color of dark blue, key of kiwi green, and border of kiwi green. The specific color codes will be provided to the contractor for an exact match of the City's logo. All of the lines, including 3-point arc, free throw line, center line, lines through the paint, center circle lines, and out of bounds lines being white in color. Each court will have the City of Dunn logo at midcourt. Please refer to the attachment for design and logo placement. The courts will have 10 feet high fencing around the perimeter totaling in 460 linear feet. The fencing should be black vinyl coated chain-link fencing with one entrance to the courts along the baseline facing the parking lot. This entrance should be a closable gate of the same black vinyl coated chain-link material. The project will include 5 feet wide concrete sidewalk and a concrete handicap parking space outside the court to create a safe and ADA accessible entrance to the basketball court entrance. A total of 100 linear feet of sidewalk from the entrance connecting to 16 feet wide by 18 feet long concrete handicap parking space. Sports lighting for evening play should be included into the bid package. Price the lighting to adequately light the entire court with a minimum of 18' Square, 4"x4", 11-gauge steel powder coated poles, bolted in concrete footings, low profile LED fixtures with a minimum of 30,000 lumens per fixture. These three items are to be listed as separate alternates. The equipment should be in full compliance with both American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) and Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) guidelines. The equipment shall be accessible to the handicapped in accordance with State and Federal laws. Each proposal shall include the total cost for installing the equipment and surface. The successful bidder shall provide all insurance necessary for the installation portion of this project. Construction should be completed no later than September 2023.
