As of August 3, 2023, this project has been cancelled, no definite date to rebid. The City of Barre is seeking proposals for the design and installation of life safety Fire Alarm sensing, detection and notification systems for the City Hall and Opera House. The Fire Alarm system is to include; - A code / ADA compliant zoned fire alarm system, carbon monoxide detection system with 2 remote annunciation panels one to be located in the lobby of the opera house and the second will be established by the system at a "to be determined" location. See page 3, #3. - All public activation devices will be equipped with code compliant guarding to prevent accidental or false alarm activations. - A Voice EVAC system with preprogrammed evacuation messages must be included. Messages will be determined in conjunction with the vendor. - The Voice EVAC system will also have a remote access station located in the Opera House Lobby - The Fire Alarm will interface with the City of Barre Master Box system and also will have a Dialer. - The proposed Fire Alarm system will interface with the current compressor and sprinkler system and provide monitoring for the system. - The system will have a battery backup and also be supported by the building's generator unit. - The proposed system will be designed to interface with the City's proposed Security system. - Vendor is responsible for all permits. - Vendor responsible for the removal of all decommissioned equipment The City welcomes proposals from electrical contractors, control/safety systems contractors or joint ventures comprised of professionals from either discipline. All proposals will have a 90-day window of installation not to interfere with the operation of the City Hall and or the Opera House. The City intends to approve selection of a provider at the City Council meeting scheduled for Tuesday, June 27, 2022.
