Briefly and without force and. e ffe ct up on the Contract Documents, the Work can be sum-marized as: 1. Offsit.e and onsite utilities. 2. Demolition (of approximately 101,000 sf) and hazardous materi-als removal. 3. Modernization (of approxi-mately 80,000 sf) and new con-struction (of approximately 121,000 sf). 4. Site work and sports fields. 5. Site preparation and utility. connection for portable classroom camp LIS. Work includes but is not limited to: 1. Demolition and hazardous materials removal. 2. Concrete and steel structure systems. 3. Exterior enclosure systems including: asphalt shingles, metal roof panels, metal wall and soffit panels, fiber-cement. siding, poly-vinyl chloride (PVC) roofing. and associated sheet metal flashing and trim, and roof accessories. 4. Interior improvements including: wall, floor and ceiling finishes. 5. Food service equipment and conveyance systems. 6. HVAC, plumbing and fire protection systems. 7. Power and low voltage sys-tems. 8. Civil, landscape and irriga-tion including: earthwork, exterior imp:rovements, and utilities. Work is to be performed in 3 primary phases over 58 months 1. Each phase includes sub-phases, 2. Each of the three phases shall be substantially complete prior to commencing the next one. Project lnvolves but not lim-ited to: 1. Complex phasing and transi-tions between phasing. 2. Temporary facilities includ-ing but not limited to: a. Utilities. b. Safety and security measures including cameras and fencing. c. Exiting pathways and tun-nels and wayfinding signage. 3. Ongoing maintenance and operation of temporary facilities, 4. Work on an occupied site around students, staff and. visi-tors. 5. Need to secure long lead items promptly in order to prevent delaying work. Deposits will be returned to Bidders upon return of the Bid Documents to ARC Tacoma in good condition within 10 days fol-lowing Bid Opening. BOND Accompany each bid with a certified check, cashier's check, or surety compa-ny bid bond in an amount not less than 5 percent of the Base Bid. Make payable to North Thurston Public Schools. PREVAILING WAGES Pursuant to RCW 39.12, no workman, laborer, or mechanic employed in performance of any part of the contract shall be paid less than the "prevailing rate of wage" (in effect as of the date that bids are due) as determined by the Industrial Statistician of the Dept. of Labor and Industries. Copies of the prevailing wage rate sched-ule are available directly from the Dept. of Labor and industries website.
