As of August 21, 2023, an architect has been selected and this project is in the design status. Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, it is anticipated bidding will commence early 2024, with construction following. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Department of Public Safety invites experienced design firms to submit qualifications to provide design services for the NCSHP/NCSBI Joint Armory and NCSHP Technical Services Unit (TSU) also known as VIPER Building. The project is for a new NCSHP/NCSBI Joint Armory and a new NCSHP TSU located at the NCSHP Training Academy, 3318 Garner Rd, Raleigh, NC. The Joint Armory building will provide a secure armory for both NCSHP and NCSBI and will replace existing armories on the campus. The NCSHP TSU will serve as the data center and IT office for the NCSHP and will replace the existing TSU. The project will involve project phasing to include new utilities, paving, and site work on the NCSHP side of the campus, as well as demolition of the existing NCSHP armory and TSU The method of Contractor Selection has not been Determined at this time.
