Although a firm timeline for construction has not been determined, construction is expected to start in 2025. *The closed solicitation has been included below for reference: The Department of Public Safety invites experienced design firms to submit qualifications to provide design services for the SBI Headquarter Building and Building 12 Renovation. The project is for a new SBI Headquarters Building at 3320 Garner Rd, Raleigh, NC. The new headquarters building will serve to consolidate several SBI special sections around Raleigh, IT, and other functional groups on the Garner Road Campus into a single building. It is envisioned for the existing headquarters building to remain and be extensively renovated since it is a prominent building of the original campus. The new multi-story headquarters building should join the existing headquarters building and an adjacent building through interior connectors. The project will involve project phasing to allow the demolition and renovation of other structures. A redevelopment master plan has been prepared for the property that estimates the new headquarters building to be at 90,000 square feet. The master redevelopment plan will be provided to the successful firm as background for the advance planning phase. In order to comply with the Performance Standards for Sustainable, Energy-Efficient Public Buildings per Article 8C of GS 143-135.35 to .40, Advance Planning Phase services will be required.
