Vertical structures for the GrimesPlex multi-sports venue which consists of two concession/restroom buildings, a maintenance building, two trash enclosures and two monument signs. The buildings are primarily concrete masonry unit construction with masonry and fiber cement siding for the exterior finishes. Roof framing is metal plate wood trusses and glu-lam timber framing with a combination of roof membrane and metal roofing. The North and South concession/restroom buildings are 2,781 square feet with roof area of 5,580 square feet. The maintenance building is 3,267 square feet in size. Bids will be received and project constructed under a single prime contract. Bids must be on a lump sum basis. Work to commence on or about June 7, 2023. Phase 1 is to be substantially complete on or before March 15, 2024. Entire project to be substantially complete by May 1, 2024. Final Acceptance of the Project shall be on or before May 15, 2024 The Grimes City Council reserves the right to conduct such investigations as it deems necessary to assist in the evaluation of any apparent low bidder to establish the qualifications, experience, number of employees, and responsibility of the bidder to do the work. The City of Grimes may require submission of AIA Document A305, Contractor Qualification Statement, at its discretion to the apparent low bidder.
